Prenatal yoga honors the relatively short journey between conception and delivery of a newborn child. During this phase many women, including myself, feel sidelined by the overwhelming expectations in their own physiology, as well as the expectations of one’s community and family.
In this series, the goal is to strengthen mothers for the work ahead. It is also a time to strengthen our maternal connection to the child as well as foster the personal connection to oneself. Using yogic techniques such as the breath, flow and form, pre-natal yoga can be a compass to mothers in this phase of life.
